Measuring devices
An important issue in product development is receiving accurate information about a device being tested. The Oilon Product Development Unit utilises several measuring devices for measuring various properties of the burners. Regular calibration of the measuring devices guarantees reliable measuring results.

Gasmet

  • Gasmet is a highly accurate combustion gas analyser designed for continuous use and based on IR spectrum technology.
  • DaisyLab is a fan pressure and combustion curve logger used in pre-testing and approval of burners.
  • We use NMI traceable reference gases when calibrating combustion gas analysers.
  • We perform particle mass measuring in accordance with pertinent standards by using a verified method developed by Oilon.
  • Device sound measuring is done with calibrated products of a well known sound measuring device manufacturer.
  • We use datalogger to continuously save data. This guarantees accurate analyses of combustion gases, temperatures, capacity and other variables in long-term monitoring.

Rapid Prototyping
When manufacturing prototypes, we utilise various methods, such as the rapid prototyping method.

In rapid prototyping, a model is constructed based on a computer-generated model. First, the virtual model is modified into horizontal axis cross profiles – still virtual ones. Then the computer processes the model data and produces the model one layer at a time by melting a powder with a laser, until all layers are finished. Such an adding manufacturing method enables production of highly complex shapes and pieces. The rapid prototyping method is considerably faster than the traditional methods, and it also assists us in speeding up our product development cycle.
