Reseach and development

Our most important R&D goals are extremely low emissions, high efficiency, ease of maintenance, and elegant design. Oilon invests approximately 5% of the annual turnover in product development. The renovated Oilon R&D Centre includes two-storey modern laboratory facilities and standardised combustion chambers ranging from 20 kW to 8 MW. The utilisation of various boilers on the market enables versatile combustion tests as well as accurate measurements both with oil and gas. The Oilon products are subject to the requirements of several directives (GAD/MD/LVD/PED/ATEX/EMC), and we verify in our own accredited laboratory that our products comply with these requirements.

Reducing emissions
The most important methods used when reducing emissions include Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and experimental measurements both in laboratory and actual operating conditions. We also aim at improving the efficiency of our burners.
Electronic mixture control In our product development activity, we also invest in electronic mixture control, which is a modern control system. The electronic mixture control allows us to reach savings in energy consumption and maintenance costs.
Studying renewable energy Another important research interest is the use of various renewable energy sources, such as bio-oils, biogases, heat pumps, solar energy, and hybrid heating systems.
External services Our laboratory also tests by request of our customers new fuels as well as devices and methods aiming at reducing emissions.
